Since 1991 Lee Porter's quilt-art has been story telling, whether it is interpreting her life, a biblical story, or a social issue like homelessness or Nicaraguan poverty. The process starts with a story, working with images and translating a design into fabric.
She has been in many group exhibitions and has had one person shows at Smith College, Northampton, Mass., IAO Gallery, Oklahoma City, Dadian Gallery, Wesley Seminary, Washington, DC. Her work is part of individual and institutional collections including: The Children's Defense Fund, Washington, D.C., University of Va. Medical Center, Charlottesville, FA; Global Education Fund, Santa Fe, NM and World Hope International, Arlington, VA.
