THE TOWER OF BABEL

“Come let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we can make a name for ourselves.” Genesis 11:3-4
This quilt was made for a fund-raising auction for the Octagon, an historic house in D.C. owned by the American Institute of Architecture. Many well-known architects attended the event, and I felt this quilt provided a biblical perspective on the desire of many of us to make a tower which reaches to the heavens to make a name for ourselves.
