After Elijah demonstrated God's power on Mount Carmel against four-hundred Baal prophets and evokes Queen Jezebel”s wrath, he flees to the Sinai and hides in a cave waiting impatiently for God to pass by. God's message does not come to him in the extraordinary form of wind, fire, or earthquake, but in a still small voice. The message includes that he is not alone in his worship of God; there are seven thousand others worshiping God. It was only in this remote cave with nothing else to do but listen that he finally heard this message. I used very busy fabrics to make a clear contrast with the quiet of the cave space.
