This quilt was made to hang in the chapel of Lazarus House of the Samaritan Inns program. Lazarus House is an eighty-one single unit housing community for the formerly homeless and addicted. The account in John 38:43-44 of Jesus ordering the tombstone to be taken away & Lazarus being freed of the strips of cloth wrapping him and being brought back to life, connects with the people living in Lazarus House, who have had many people help unwrap them of their addictions and dysfunctional behaviors.
