BY THE WATERS OF BABYLON On the right: “By the waters of Babylon, we sat and wept when we remembered Zion...we hung up our harps on the poplar trees...How can we sing the songs of the Lord in a strange land.” Psalm 137:1-4 Two Biblical authors wrote during the Babylonian exile: the psalmist focussed on the past and the prophet addressed the present and future. I made this quilt to demonstrate the diversity of biblical writers understandings of the same event.
