Pinwheels for Peace Protect Kindergarten and Village Located in the Jordan Valley part of the occupied Palestinian territories, the kindergarten of Al Aqabah became the first school in the Middle East to join Pinwheels for Peace, a movement of 2 million children worldwide who are creating pinwheels and putting them in motion for International Peace Day. The village gathered everyone together, children and parents, to remember what peace looks like, making pinwheels for peace to save their community and kindergarten from demolition. The Israeli army has issued demolition orders against nearly all the homes in the village, the mosque, the medical clinic and the kindergarten which serves 130 students. Children in the U.S. are helping too – making pinwheels and asking their Senators and Congresspersons to care about peace and care about Al Aqabah. For more information: www.RebuildingAlliance.org |
