THE GOOD SAMARITAN I In Luke 10:25-37, in response to a lawyer's question about who is his neighbor, Jesus tells the story of a man being attacked and left lying beside the Jericho Road. A priest and Levite pass him by, but a Samaritan had compassion and brought him to an inn and pays for his care. Jesus asks, “which of these three proved neighbor to the man who fell among robbers?” The lawyer answered, “The one who showed mercy”. Jesus told him to go & do likewise. This quilt was made for Lazarus House of the Samaritan Inns, which provides a community and a structured program to deal with addictions and getting on with one's life, for many formerly homeless people in D.C..
